HP Pavilion 15 Reviews: Powerful and Affordable

Posted by Chris Robot0 CommentsPosted in Blog

When it comes to laptops, not everyone requires the greatest and most powerful specifications money can buy. Going for the finest CPU or display in class seems redundant if your major goal for a laptop is entertainment and just opening files in Microsoft Office programs. However, I believe that a laptop is an investment for many people, since it is a device they will use for at least two to three years, if not much longer, than their beloved cell phones.

In such a case, finding the correct balance while purchasing a laptop is crucial. The HP Pavilion is one such alternative, with features adequate for most people and an appealing design factor. Here is my HP Pavilion 15 review:

What is HP Pavilion 15?

The Pavilion brand has long represented HP’s consumer mid-range marque, and this 15-inch laptop fits right in; it’s a not-quite-ultrabook notebook with a lot to offer. The model we have here is a system packed with high-end technology, from 16GB of RAM to a fast 512GB SSD, from a touch-screen 15.3-inch FHD display to a 4th-generation AMD Ryzen 7 processor. It’s a solid contender for a spot on our list of the best laptops.

Performance

The 14-eg2018TX HP Pavilion 15 unit has an 12th Generation Intel® Core™ i5 processor, 8GB RAM, and 256GB SSD storage. While these aren’t the most amazing features in a laptop, they do represent decent value for money. In practice, we discovered that the laptop could readily handle ordinary chores like accessing the web, writing documents in Microsoft Office, and streaming video and audio.

Processor

The i5-1135G7 prioritizes low power consumption and heat generation. It has four cores that run at 4.2 GHz. Eight chips are ideal for running multiple programs in parallel.

Design and Built

The HP Pavilion 15 is a stylish notebook. Despite its mid-range pricing, the aluminum chassis in frosted silver adds beauty. It is transportable. While there are lighter laptops available, the Pavilion 14 weighs in at 1.46kg. It’s also really compact. If you need to run to the kitchen or a conference room for a call, you can carry it with one hand.

Keyboard

The standard-size chicklet keyboard is quick and accurate. Users who type frequently should be delighted with this keyboard. The counterpressure as well as the barely audible click when the key is pressed provide a high-quality impression. Travel is on the short side, as expected, but nevertheless enjoyable. The keyboard delivers a nice overall impression because the foundation is quite robust even under heavy pressure.

Only private users who want to use this device for gaming should have a problem with the standard layout, which lacks a number block and has smaller arrow keys. HP would have had room for full-size arrow keys if they had chosen to place the power button outside of the keyboard.

Touchpad

There isn’t much to say negative about the touchpad: Due to the broad surface, it responds precisely and may be used as well with one or four fingers. Only the mouse keys themselves have a little squishy sensation. This does not apply when using the typical touch-sensitive surface to left-click.

Webcam

The webcam’s resolution is a lowly 720p, as is customary. The color differences are really visible. Unfortunately, this is also true of many built-in laptop webcams.

Thankfully, the decent image in low light and the trustworthy dual array microphone still allow for good video conversations. The caller is simple to hear because voices seem normal and outside noises, such as music, are muted.

Some users could have a problem with the absence of the mechanical webcam shutter.

Battery Life

The Pavilion’s battery life is fairly excellent, if not remarkable. The producers claim more than eight hours of normal use, which appears to be accurate.

Connectivity

In terms of connectivity, Pavilion also performs admirably. A 3.5mm audio jack and a USB-A connection are located on the left. A MicroSD slot, another USB-A port, a USB-C port, and slots for a power cable and an HDMI cable can be found on the right.

Price & Discount

HP Pavilion 15 price starting at $649.99, depends on your configuration the price may vary. New customers also can get up to $100 off using hp pavilion coupon codes & deals for a limited period.

Pros

  • Fast performance
  • Fingerprint reader
  • Low cost

Cons

  • Keyboard is a little stiff.
  • Battery life is adequate.

Conclusion

The HP Pavilion 15 is a decent, low-cost laptop for home or office usage that can handle most tasks, including video calls, web surfing, social networking, music streaming, and light photo editing. The main disadvantage is that the display may be a little too dim for some, and the touch-screen isn’t quite essential.
